Our story

Born from Firsthand Experience

Founded by Anna Marie Prim, HR + Safety Congress^TM was born from firsthand experiences with natural disasters, workplace violence, organizational crises, and emergency response, both personally and professionally.

Those experiences revealed a critical gap: the professionals responsible for protecting people often prepare, plan, and respond in silos.

Human resources, workplace safety, emergency management, risk, and executive leadership are deeply interconnected, yet opportunities for meaningful collaboration are often limited.

HR + Safety Congress was created to change that.

By bringing these disciplines together, the Congress creates opportunities to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and develop practical strategies that help organizations and communities prepare for, navigate, and recover from crises.

Because preparedness doesn’t begin when a crisis happens. It begins with the people, partnerships, and decisions made long before it does.
